Antifreeze deaths alarm Scottish cat communityA woman has revealed her family's heartbreak after their cat died after being poisoned by antifreeze - just months after their other kitty died of a suspected similar cause, Scottish pet health care charity the SPCA has revealed. Lynne Erskine of Glenmavis Drive said that Dodi's death was a blow following the situation that occurred with her former pet.

"Dodi was a rescue cat we rehomed in February. He was a much loved family pet who was brilliant with both my daughters. It's a real loss to the whole family and we all miss him very much," she added.  His death comes simultaneously with another feline from Glenmavis Drive, also thought to have been killed by ingestion of the toxic substance.

Inspectors in Bathgate now say they are concerned by the incidents and worried more animals could be affected.

People saddened by the news might find some relief, however, in donating some cat food to the charity's Angus, Fife and Tayside Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre, which recently appealed for help in this department.
