Pet holders are being advocated to make certain their animals are correctly controlled when travelling in a vehicle. Charity PDSA is warning consumers that pets could face injury if not properly secured – as could owners.
"It's not just your pet that would be injured - you risk seriously harming the people travelling in the car," a spokesman told Life Style Extra.
To increase awareness of the need to make sure animals are buckled up, the PDSA is launching its Pet Holiday Health campaign to highlight that 200,000 accidents occur each year as a result of distractions – such as an animal not being restrained.
